Trying to get Minecraft set up for the kids. It loads but then it gives and error message saying the that video card is bad and that I need accelerated open gl mode. I have checked on my Toshiba a215-s5582 which has a Microsoft Basic Video Adapter and ATI Radeon graphics card with Atom Bios. It says that it is up to date. How do I download or enable this accelerated open gl mode that minecraft mentions? I also just upgraded to Windows 8 64 bit. Not sure if this is part of the problem.


hi. there is some sort of prob in my pc.whenever i try to run any videos, ( using vlc media player and windows media player ) there is a black screen, also when i play games, it auutomatically shuts down and quits the game. i also use softwares for photo editing ( photoshop and adobe illustrator) .they are also not working.i dont know the cause of this problem whether it is driver related or something else.plz help !!!!

Hi, i have a problem. My Minecraft says i need to update my drivers in order to play it, but i have tried over and over to update and restart and it just wont work. Can you lead me to a soulution so i can fix this problem and stop delaying my youtube videos? That would be great.


My system says that it has low video memory though i have installed a NVIDIA video card .I could not load any games or heavy software but my monitor works properly. Plz wht should i do . it never happened brfore


Same video display driver is not working which i used one year back. I reinstall my hp laptop n installed those drivers i kept already in my pendrive. But this time it shows like installing but nothing happened. I can not change the brightness which is a big problem for me. I downloaded latesr chipset n intel hd display driver from hp official website n installed those. But nothing happened. Its really harassing :'(


This uses GL_RGBA8 for the internal format. GL_BGRA and GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE (or GL_UNSIGNED_INT_8_8_8_8 is for the data in pixels array. The driver will likely not have to perform any CPU-based conversion and DMA this data directly to the video card. Benchmarking shows that on Windows and with nVidia and ATI/AMD, that this is the optimal format.

What I DON'T have is the ability to run Aero on Vista, nor the appearance of improved video drivers on XP. The XP thing I can live with, but I need Aero on Vista to be able to test applications in that environment.


That error generally means that your computer doesn't provide the 3D graphics support that Minecraft needs to run. If you're pretty sure you have the necessary 3D graphics hardware, you may need to update your video card's drivers.


DirectX != OpenGL. Support for one on your graphics card and your drivers does not mean support for the other. Even if your GFX card supports it, doesn't mean your drivers do and Dell are particularly bad at drivers. So if you are running the factory installed ones, or ones from the dell website, that will almost certainly be the issue.
